How can I down size a picture from my computer pic file, so I can upload it on to my myspace.com web

The pictures I want to upload onto my myspace.com web page can only be 600kb and when I downloaded them from my kodak EasyShare camera onto my computer, they were much larger. So I'm thinking that there's got to be a way to down size my pics.

I recommend the program IrfanView (http://www.irfanview.com/ ), it's free, light on resource and is quite popular. It's main advantage than MS Paint is it is able to do batched work, meaning, you can resize, crop, etc several images in one run, so you don't need to open images one by one than resize, than open another, etc. Its advantage to Photoshop, is it's light and open much faster than photoshop (almost instantly compared to one minute)

There are several ways to downsize an image:

Resizing, Cropping, saving on different image formats,and Quality downgrading

All of these can be done in IrfanView batchedly, by File %26gt; Batch Conversion/Rename (it can do much more than renaming and conversion), then you need to play around there. For options on resizing and cropping check the Use advanced option checkbox then click Advanced Options. Useful tips: Get all images in one folder then click on the Add All.

If you want to tweak only single images,

Crop: Select the area that you want to keep (by leftclick, drag, than release mouse). then go to Edit %26gt; Crop Selection, or simply Ctrl+Y.

Resize: go to Image %26gt; Resize/Resample, or simply Ctrl+R. Then set the image size, methods, etc.

Changing Formats, Just File %26gt; Save or Save As (Ctrl+S or S), then choose different file formats

For Quality Downgrading, also File %26gt; Save or Save As, but see the options on the right (if it doesn't sow up, make sure the show options checkbox is checked)

Resize it in paint. open it and go to IMAGE and ATTRIBUTES. You may have to figure out the ratio and it does not do it automatically.

easiest way is to use ms paint

first backup your image by creating a copy (just incase you make a mistake you have a backup)

right click on the file and choose "Edit" then click

image -%26gt; attributes -%26gt; stretch / skew -%26gt; then set horizontal and vertical to lower % like say 20% or 50%

then save your image

it is easier if you have paintshop pro (any version) and resize it in there and save to yo computer then you can download it to myspace. or you can make it bigger for your background there also. you can get a free trial version at
